How to automate a YouTube channel with ChatGPT or Claude

To automate a YouTube channel with ChatGPT or Claude, add ClipFlux to the chat, create a ClipFlux channel and ask the assistant to switch on Autopilot for the weekdays and hour you pick. On each of those days ClipFlux makes a video in the channel's look and posts it to the YouTube channel you set for it, by itself and without the chat open, until you switch it off. From the same chat you can see every scheduled post, schedule single videos with their own visibility, and cancel a post before it goes out.

ClipFlux Autopilot from a chat, in short

  • Works in: ChatGPT (as a plugin) and Claude (as a custom connector), both by the address https://mcp.clipflux.ai/mcp.
  • Channels: the assistant creates a ClipFlux channel from its name, niche, what it is about, Shorts or long videos, how often it posts (once a week, twice a week or every day), and its look and narrator. Creating one is free, and it starts with Autopilot off.
  • Autopilot: a video on the weekdays, hour and time zone you choose, with an optional credit floor that pauses it before a run would take your credits below it.
  • Your yes: before switching Autopilot on, the assistant tells you the channel, the days and time, what one video usually costs and that it runs until you switch it off, and waits for your yes.
  • The schedule: every upcoming post with its video, channel and time, plus what went out or failed in the last 7 days. Any post that has not gone out can be cancelled.
  • Single posts: now, at a time or as soon as the export is done, each as public, unlisted or private.
  • On clipflux.ai only: linking your YouTube channel, where a channel posts, where its topics come from and how much it waits for your approval. Posting to TikTok from the chat is not available yet.

Two ways to automate from the chat

You can schedule videos one at a time, or hand a channel to Autopilot. A good order is to start with the first and move to the second once the videos are what you want.

Step 1: Add ClipFlux to ChatGPT or Claude

In ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, press Add, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it ClipFlux and paste https://mcp.clipflux.ai/mcp as the Server URL.
  3. Tick "I understand and want to continue" and press Create as a plugin.
  4. Press Connect ClipFlux, sign in to ClipFlux and press Allow.

In Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Press + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it ClipFlux, paste https://mcp.clipflux.ai/mcp as the MCP server URL and press Continue, then Add.
  4. Press Connect, sign in to ClipFlux and press Allow.

A free Claude plan allows one custom connector. The setup clips are on the ClipFlux in ChatGPT and Claude page.

On clipflux.ai, open Settings, Connected platforms and sign in with YouTube. The chat cannot link a channel for you; when nothing is linked, the assistant's card links to clipflux.ai instead of posting. Making and exporting videos works without a linked channel.

Step 3: Create a channel from the chat

Tell the assistant what the channel is. For example:

  • "Create a ClipFlux channel called Deep Time: long videos about strange moments in prehistory, for curious adults, twice a week, in the Doodle 2D look."
  • "Read this channel and create one like it with a new name and an angle of its own" with a YouTube channel link. ClipFlux reads its niche, title pattern and best recent video (a few credits), and the new channel keeps it as a reference, never a copy.

Creating the channel is free, and Autopilot starts off. If no ClipFlux look fits, the assistant can design a look of your own for the channel, priced before anything is drawn.

Step 4: Set where it posts and how it runs on clipflux.ai

Open the channel on clipflux.ai (Channels). Three settings live there, not in the chat:

  • Where it posts: the YouTube channel its videos go to. Without one, Autopilot makes the videos without posting them.
  • Where topics come from: "Only my ideas", which pauses and tells you when the queue is empty, or "My ideas, then AI", where AI picks a topic from the channel's description when the queue runs out.
  • Step approval: "Fully automatic" runs every step and posts; "Approve the script" makes each video wait for your OK on its script, emailed to you; "I approve each step" waits for you at every step.

AI scripts can get facts wrong, so for anything factual keep an approval on until you trust what the channel makes.

Step 5: Switch on Autopilot for your days

Ask for the schedule in plain words: "Switch on Autopilot for Deep Time on Monday and Thursday at 18:00, Stockholm time." Before it switches anything on, the assistant tells you the channel, the days and time, what one video usually costs and that it keeps running until you switch it off. It switches Autopilot on only after your yes in your own message.

From then on ClipFlux makes a video on each of those days and spends that video's credits, and posts it if the channel posts somewhere. Autopilot needs a ClipFlux plan, and the plan sets how many channels can run it at once; the assistant can tell you how many you have on. Switching it off, or changing the days and hour, needs no extra yes. Once it is off, nothing more is made or posted for that channel.

Step 6: Keep the schedule in view

Ask "what is scheduled?" and the assistant lists every upcoming post with its video, channel and time, and what went out or failed in the last 7 days. ClipFlux tells the assistant to check this list before it schedules a post, so two posts do not land on the same day.

To post a single video, ask for it: the post card shows the channel, the description, when it goes out and who can see it (public, unlisted or private, for that post only), and asks whether the video is aimed at kids. You answer that yourself, and it posts only after your yes. Any post that has not gone out can be cancelled from the chat; a video already on YouTube is removed on YouTube itself.

What still needs your yes

  • Switching Autopilot on, after the assistant has said the channel, the days, the time and the usual cost.
  • Making a video: the price shows on the Make button first.
  • Posting a video: the post card, then your yes.
  • Whether a video is aimed at kids: always your answer, never the assistant's.
  • Paid extras such as a new look, a redrawn scene or thumbnail pictures: priced or asked first.

Listing channels and posts, changing the schedule and switching Autopilot off need no extra yes. ChatGPT and Claude can still ask you to allow a ClipFlux action in their own way.

Automating without getting demonetized

YouTube pays AI-made videos, but not mass-produced, repetitive ones, and it reviews the channel as a whole. Give every video its own topic and angle, read the scripts of factual videos, and post only as often as you can check. The rules, and where YouTube draws the line, are in What is YouTube automation? Questions

Can ChatGPT run a YouTube channel automatically?

With the ClipFlux plugin, ChatGPT can set it up: create a ClipFlux channel, set its Autopilot days and hour, and switch it on after your yes. From then on ClipFlux makes and posts a video on each of those days by itself, without the chat open, until you switch it off. The same works in Claude.

Can Claude post to YouTube on a schedule?

Yes, with ClipFlux connected. Claude can schedule one video for a time you pick, or switch on Autopilot for a channel so a new video is made and posted on the weekdays and hour you choose. Your YouTube channel has to be linked on clipflux.ai first.

Does Autopilot post without asking me?

It can. A channel's Step approval setting on clipflux.ai decides: Fully automatic runs every step and posts; Approve the script makes each video wait for your OK on its script, emailed to you; I approve each step makes it wait for you at every step. For anything factual, keep an approval on.

How do I stop Autopilot?

Ask the assistant to switch Autopilot off for that channel. It needs no extra yes, and nothing more is made or posted for the channel. You can also switch it off on the channel on clipflux.ai.

Can I see what is scheduled to post?

Yes. Ask what is scheduled: the assistant lists every upcoming post with its video, channel and time, and what went out or failed in the last 7 days. It can cancel any post that has not gone out yet. A video already on YouTube is removed on YouTube itself.

Does Autopilot cost money?

Autopilot needs a ClipFlux plan, and the plan sets how many channels can run it at once. Each video it makes uses ClipFlux credits, as on the site. You can set a credit floor so Autopilot pauses itself before a run would take your credits below it.

Is it allowed to automate a YouTube channel?

YouTube pays AI-made videos, but it does not pay mass-produced, repetitive ones, and it reviews the channel as a whole. Give every video its own topic and angle, read the scripts of factual videos, and post only as often as you can check.
