Getting auto captions right

Timed to the word, not the sentence

Each word gets its own start and end time from the audio, so the highlighted word moves with the voice instead of jumping a line at a time.

Pick a style for the platform

Busy, bright styles suit Shorts and TikTok, where captions are part of the look. A plain style suits explainers and long videos, where they should get out of the way.

Keep the voice clear

Music under the voice is fine; music over it is not. The cleaner the speech, the fewer words come out wrong.

Captions and subtitles are the same words

Burned-in captions are part of the picture and show everywhere. A subtitle file sits beside the video and can be turned off. Use the first for Shorts and Reels, the second for long YouTube videos.

Any language you speak in

The language is detected from the speech, more than 90 of them, and the captions come out in the language that was spoken.
