How to make AI narration sound natural

Write the way people talk

Short sentences, contractions and plain words read better aloud than written prose. Read the script out loud once: anything you stumble on, the voice will stumble on too.

Punctuation is direction

A comma is a short pause, a full stop a longer one, and a new paragraph a beat. Use them to pace the read rather than adding spaces or dots.

Spell out what it gets wrong

If a year, a number or an abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be said, for example "nineteen eighty-four" for the year.

Match the voice to the niche

Deep, slower voices suit history and true crime; brighter, quicker ones suit facts, tech and Shorts. Use the speed switch instead of rewriting the script to hit a length.
